Forever ‘till the end?
In the mystery of expectation
Through all the forks in the road
The ups and downs, the leaps and bounds
Who knows where to go?
Who spins this thread of reckless fate
Who cuts it at the end?
Rolling, pulling, stretching us
How can we comprehend?
That in the measure of a lifetime
We just can’t get it all done
Through tricks or turns we have to learn
Some things we can’t outrun
It’s not the mastery of my life
But the mystery of my story
It’s those little twists of fate
Through unfamiliar territory
Soon I’ll be pushing daisies
Six feet underground
I may as well accept it all
While I’m still around
Do the stars control our destiny
What’s life supposed to mean?
Is it just a game, just a dream
